Included in AniMat’s cast of wacky cartoons: Silly Old Deadly Bear
Line of Events
Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in “Skeleton Crew” and more stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that Neel’s little brothers star in are the same ones Chewbacca’s family saw in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).
When I watched the first episode I was so glad it was about 40 minutes long
(2022). I think the series is great so far, but there’s one issue that really bugs me: the runtime. Then came episode two – if you include the flashback and credits, it’s less than 25 minutes.
If I have 25 minutes of the show every week, I have to watch what happened the week before
As soon as you can’t really get lost in the universe anymore and make friends with it, it’s over. Incredibly unsatisfying! I probably won’t be watching it for months and will try to avoid all spoilers so I can watch it next year.
And to the actors: Oh my god, they’re kids
You can tell they didn’t have years of acting training. However, the leads are likable, the music is good, and the action isn’t too kid-friendly. After two episodes, I’m excited to see what happens next, but unfortunately I won’t know until next year.
